Preparing for your First Appointment

Welcome! We're glad that you have chosen El Paso Counseling Services as your professional counseling provider. We know preparing for your first session may be a bit overwhelming, and we want to help you be as prepared as possible. We do our best to make the entire process as easy and welcoming as we can, and making sure you have the correct documentation and information can help us achieve that goal.

Your first appointment at El Paso Counseling Services, PLLC will typically last 45-60 minutes, during which time we will complete a detailed evaluation of your reasons for seeking counseling, problems and issues you wish to work on, and other personal historical information that will help in determining what best the course of action will be to meet your needs and goals.

What to Bring To Your Appointment:

For your first appointment, please bring the following information and documents with you:

• Government Issued Photo ID (Driver license, State ID, Permanent Resident Card or Passport)
• Veterans referred by the VA are required to bring their VA Identification Card
• Health Insurance Cards (or payment method for Private Pay)
• Optionally, you may want to also bring copies of prior treatment records or assessments, if you have these available.
• If you were referred to us through another provider or agency, please bring any referral documentation or files they may have provided to you as well.
